One of the major discussion since yesterday afternoon in IT and Non-IT industries as we have heard about this News: “Microsoft Bought LinkedIn at $ 26 Billion”.
Number of things came in my mind as well –
- Most important part of any New or Old Business is, “THE USERS”. Microsoft is having a Billion users where LinkedIn is having 433 million members from 200 countries and more than this, is adding two new members every second. From these LinkedIn users more than 90% users are professionals.
Microsoft may have scope to utilize LinkedIn Professional users with strategy to earn more.
- Recently launched Lynda.com platform from LinkedIn for the e-Learning, where 6 of the Top 25 most popular courses are related to Microsoft.
LinkedIn have advantage to utilize these Microsoft Technologies directly.
- In major countries LinkedIn is grown as professional social media platform for “Jobs” and “career”. Microsoft will provide additional wings to outgrow from this identity.
The Best part I found is even Microsoft is acquiring LinkedIn, “Mr Jeff Weiner” remains LinkedIn’s chief executive reporting to “Mr Satya Nadella” Microsoft CEO. How the things will be driven through these two brains now onwards mainly for LinkedIn.
Recently LinkedIn has shared own vision as want to handle almost every imaginable element in the professional workplace. For this integrating e-learning directly into the platform, plans to opening up its own freelance marketplace, and making it easier than ever to sell products and services to other professionals directly on the site itself.
I am concluding this article with one big question which is in my Mind:
“Can we see the same speed growth for LinkedIn as LinkedIn-Microsoft?”
